If you are looking for a good book over the weekend, Gail Honeyman’s debut novel, ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’, is well worth a read. No spoilers, I promise, but according to the author, this tale of one woman’s routine life is “set to fuel the debate on loneliness”. She goes to work, comes home and spends entire weekends without speaking to a soul.
The mental health charity, Mind, describes loneliness as ‘a way of your body telling you that you need more social contact’. So, if the weekend is stretching out in front of you, why not get hold of a copy of this book and sit in a coffee shop, in the park or on the beach and be amongst people?
